Thank You Mom and Dad

Dear Dad and Mom,

Today, after spending the majority of two days with Tom's family, especially his siblings visiting from out of state and out of country, they were so complimentary of me and things that I do. As I thought about these nice compliments for a moment, the thought came into my head, everything I am, I owe to my parents. My religion, my education, my talents, my kindness, my desire to do service, my friendliness, my honesty and integrity, my passion for life, my common sense, my ability to be a good mom, wife, sister, aunt, and friend, my love for culture and arts, my cooking skills, my ability to work hard, my family budgeting skills, my ability to express my love to others, and much much more are all because of my "goodly parents". I am just glad that of all the places I could have gone in this world, that I came to you.

When I think of you, I think of two people who, while they are not perfect, have fought the good fight their whole lives to make their marriage and their family last forever. When I think of you, I think of honesty and integrity, respect, responsibility, a duty to God, a great sense of self-worth, commitment to country, family, and religion, sacrifice, hard work, selfless and giving, disciples of Jesus Christ, wonderful parents and grandparents, sincere friends, and two people who I have never had to question what they believe, because they have never compromised their standards. There is so much more to that list and so much more that will follow in the years to come. You have truly given me the ability to be the best at everything that comes along in my life, and the desire to be the most honorable and wonderful version of myself.

Thank you for making the ultimate sacrifice for me in every way. I am only beginning to understand, and I continue to understand more each day. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a mom to Abigail, Max, and Luke, where I am learning all of the things you did for me and all of the desires and hopes you had for me. Thank you for raising me in a nurturing and loving environment where I never truly had to want for anything, and where I was given every opportunity to succeed, especially when it meant sacrificing your own desires and dreams. You will never understand the gratitude I have or the far-reaching affects your sacrifice and love now have and will continue to have on generations to come. I only wish I could have realized sooner and been a little bit easier on you earlier on. You have been wonderful parents to me and you have no need for regret or wishing something could have been different, because having you as my parents has been the highlight of my life. My life has been full of love, joy and wonderful adventures which I will cherish forever. You are the parents that everyone hopes for, and that everyone deserves to have.

Thank you for all you have done for me and you continue to do for me. How did a girl get so lucky to have two wonderful parents and even better two of the greatest friends. Most of all thank you for raising me in the gospel, because it has been the greatest constant in my life and will bless my life and my families life for eternity. My testimony and knowledge and love for God that started out being nurtured in your home, is my greatest treasure, and it makes everything else in my life fall perfectly into place. I have been educated at the greatest University of all, my home, with the greatest teachers to guide me every step of the way. No university or amount of tuition can given me what I have been given and learned in my home, thank you for that.

Remembering the Past, Looking Forward to the Future

Well, we all know by now that I am horrible at blogging. Between my schedule and Tom's, and with a little baby running around and two cute little boys coming and going all the time, among other crazy scheduling going on in our lives, we are booked. We feel blessed to be so busy with wonderful things in our lives. 2010 was a great year for us and for our families. Since I will never be able to catch up on our year in pictures, here are the top 10 highlights of 2010:
1. I turned 22 last January, which is my favorite number, so it was bound to be a good year.
2. My brother Aaron graduated in May first and foremost with a wife(cute Jeanette)who is a professional ballerina, but also with a Doctorate degree in Dentistry. I am so proud of him! He now practices in Las Vegas and Jeanette teaches dance. She was offered a job teaching at a college but had to decline due to the traveling distance. :(
3.Max celebrated his 6th birthday(wow time flies) and is in Kindergarten, and Luke celebrated his 5th birthday and is in preschool. Max had a pool party with an army man battlefield cake that I made and Luke had a train party with a huge Thomas the train cake that I made.
4.Tom ran a 5k which we all attended for my sister-in-law Kelli, in way faster time than I ever could have imagined. He looked like a high school kid running across that finish line at the time that he did it in. My dad and Christie ran it as well. Kelli suffers from something called Scleroderma, which I know is difficult and painful for her, but you would never know it, because I have never heard her once complain or physically show her pain. I look up to her so much for that and could learn from her amazing example!
5. Seth graduated High School and Bryan survived/dominated a year of an advanced program in Jr. High School for smartie pants and placed at the History Fair!
6. Christie graduated with her Bachelor's in Nursing from the U of U(Go UTES!) and was accepted to a graduate school in Florida. She moved away yesterday. :( :(
7. My parents and Tom's parents celebrated one more year of marriage, and they are both great blessings in our lives.
8. Tom's sister Rachel had a baby boy in December and we cannot wait to meet him!
9. Tom's sister Johanna and her family, which was blessed with a new baby girl last summer, moved to France for the 2nd time and will stay there indefinitely to work.
10. Abigail turned 1, and is the light and joy of our life. She always keeps us on our toes and constantly has us laughing. She is a miracle everyday.
Sadly, our year was also accompanied with the loss of two old neighborhood friends, who grew up with my family, and Tom's cousin lost her husband. Their lives were all tragically cut short. Our hearts ache for their families, but thankfully the greatest blessing of all every year for us is to know that life goes on beyond death and we can be together with those we love forever.
I can't wait for another year to see what life has in store for us. Bring it on 2011!
Our goals: Family, Work, School(I am fast tracking to try and finish my Bachelor's in a year and a half), Service, Church, having no cavities at our next dentist appointment(12 plus a tooth extraction for Tom is way too many) and now that we are FINALLY going to be debt free, saving enough money to buy a bigger car(heaven knows we need it) and making this year even better than the last.
Thanks to everyone we love for making our lives so wonderful.
Below are pictures of the grandkids from my side and a few new family pictures, since we have never had them done before. We took these the day before Addie moved to Florida, and we are all going to miss her and her parents so much! Can't wait until we can be close to you again! We are hoping to plan a visit in the near future to play on the beach and go on a cruise!!

Today was my birthday. I loved spending all day with my sweet little Abigail and my family. Thank you to everyone for making my birthday so great! Abigail is definately the best present I have ever received. Thanks for decorating cupcakes with me mom. It was my favorite.

Abigail knows how to party hard. She was pooped! Talk about sleeping like a baby.

Our Little Birdie

Abigail started talking to us this weekend. Not just little noises here and there, but full conversations with us. Of course she only talks baby talk, but it is way better than talking to any adult. We call her our little birdie because she stretches her head out and looks all over the place and talks in little squeaks and squeals. It reminds me of a little bird. I think I call her "my little birdie" more than I call her Abigail. How sweet is that?

Abigail is one month old today. I can't believe it. Time has just flown by. I am having a hard time with how fast she is growing and I wish I could just save every moment somehow. It's ok though because everyday brings with it something new for me to love about her. She is the best baby that a mother could ask for. She sleeps a lot during the night, sometimes 4 and 5 hours at a time, and she rarely cries, she eats really well, she has the sweetest personality and spirit, and of course I think she is so beautiful as well.

Happy New Years to everyone. We had a challenging but wonderful 2009. Everything we went through or did together made Tom and I stronger as a couple and as friends. I love him so much. With a New Year comes new goals and new challenges. We hope to accomplish a lot this year. Tom will be starting back at school and trying to get done as fast as he can. He is thinking about a business degree. He also will continue to work 3 and 4 nights a week from 6pm at night to 6 am in the morning. What a trooper. I will be working at the bank and working on my small card company along with trying to be the best mom to Abigail that I can. Here are a few of my goals for the coming year:

1. Get my pre-pregnant body back by exercising everyday and eating healthy

2. Get my last few classes done for my associates through online packets

3. Read to Abigail everyday

4. Read the entire Old Testament and New Testament with Tom

5. Create a successful small business with my cards

6. Read a biography on every single prophet beginning with the Prophet Joseph Smith as well as 30 fun books

7. Learn 10 difficult piano songs from memory

8. Become absolutely debt free by October 2010

9. Spend as much time doing outrageously fun things with Abigail as I can

10. Spend as much time as I can making my husband and family feel loved

New Year's Eve

We spent a wonderful New Year's Eve at my parent's house with all the wonderful people you see in our picture(Felicity was there as well, you just can't see her). My parent's fed us well! We had jumbo shrimp, prime rib, chicken cordon bleu, and all the wonderful extras to go with it. We also had assorted cheesecakes from Cheesecake Factory. Of course we had to open the poppers on the table, a tradition my mom loves. Poppers are full of fun and random little toys and treats. It was a awesome night celebrated with some of our favorite people.

Abigail's Blessing Day

Abigail was blessed at my parent's home by her dad. It was a beautiful blessing and we were so fortunate to be surrounded by family and friends. I am grateful to be a member of the church and have such wonderful events like this happen in my life. I am also grateful to have a worthy husband. I am so grateful that I have been blessed with my sweet little Abigail. She brings me so much joy!

Merry Christmas

This was an exciting Christmas for us because we had our sweet Abigail. It was a wonderful reminder to us of the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. All of my siblings were able to be here for Christmas, which was an extra special treat. Tom's sister Sara also came from Italy to be with family for Christmas. It was a wonderful day filled with family, food, and love.

Here we are. We have been dating for over two years, married for over a year, and now we have a sweet little girl. It is time to update my blog!! The month of December 2009 was very exciting for us. We had many wonderful events happen.
